This collage was created after visiting the local Humane Society shelter. Almost all of the dogs there (I love dogs) were barking their hearts out, but this little one just looked at me as if to say, "Are you the one?" Most people ask the dog that question when adopting a rescue, but this dog looked like it didn't dare to hope. The background is composed of a group of antique wood engravings from "The Girls Own", a children's magazine circa 1880, illustrating "Robina Crusoe", a story where a girl and her dog are shipwrecked, and live a very happy life doing everything together.
