A few years ago I was on a rafting trip on the Salmon River in Idaho. It was a wonderful journey with a small group, that took me far away from my usual life. I asked myself many questions, on that trip. Like, "What am I doing with my life?" I learned to kayak, and one day took one out, solo. The rapids turned turbulent, and I was thrown from my little craft. As I came up for air, and held on for my life, I came against a rock wall that looked like it would crush me; but the current took me around the corner, a hair's breath from death, and I floated on. When I got back to dry land I kneeled, and wept, and thanked God that I had been spared. And I knew it was for a reason. I am still waiting for my instructions, "Why". Until I hear them, I continue to Make Art.
