Women Whirled

This was an intellectual idea, that I  tried to illustrate.  The concept of "women's work" and the dismissive nature of historical evaluations led me to think on this matter deeply, and inspired me to create this collage.  Where does a women's work, and world, end, and the other, 'real' world begin?  The whole question is misleading, and so I tried to depict Women, Whirled.... since we hardly know where we fit or what to do...and yet we do what we do, to keep it revolving, around our families, friends, homes and day to day tasks.  The image is anchored at the top by a token self portrait, the old woman in the basket, knitting.  That would be me.
