New Year Noon expresses the beauty that I find in the frozen landscape, and my pleasure in being in it.  It is an environment that is exhilarating, both daunting and inviting at the same time.  The sun is so weak, and yet so brilliantly strong.  Invisible, frozen crystals in the clear air create the circular rainbow in the sky.
